A Gratitude Buddhist Ceremony To Honor 1. His Holiness Jotannano, 2. His Holiness Maha Ghosananda, 3. The Maha Thera Viriyapanno, 4. Vipassana Master Ketodhammo
 


I, Ven. Dejapanno Pheap Phorn, Board of Directors, members, Buddhist students, students former Buddhist students, students and devotees living in the United States of America unanimously agreed to organize a Gratitude Buddhist Ceremony to honor the late H.H. Jotannano Chuon Nath, the Supreme Buddhist Patriarch of Cambodia, the late H.H. Maha Ghosananda Va Yav, the Supreme Patriarch of Cambodian Buddhism, the Maha Thera Viriyapanno Suos Kou, former Head Monk of Wat Buddharangsey, Houston, Texas, and the late Vipassana Buddhist Master Ketodhammo Som Bunthoeun – they are all Buddhist monks that strictly adhere to the Teachings of the historic Lord Buddha in all their lives and served Buddhism until their times of passing respectively. 

Therefore, the Buddhist students, students, former Buddhist students, students and I would like to honor them by holding a memorial service to honor Their Holinesses, the Maha Thera, and Vipassana Master, our ancestors and deceased relatives in the realm of Samsara – the cycle of suffering, birth and death. 

Program 

* Friday the 5th Waning Moon of Jeṭṭha B.E.2557 equivalent to June 28, A.D.2013
   6:30PM         Namaskar – Pay Homage to the Triple Gem (the Buddha, the Dhamma, the Sangha), receive
                          the 5 precepts, Buddhist monks chant paritta, and Dhamma Talk 

* Saturday the 6th Waning Moon of Jeṭṭha B.E.2557 equivalent to June 29, A.D.2013
   7:00AM        Offer porridge to the Buddhist monks
   9:00AM        Buddhist monks go for alms rounds within the compound of the temple

   10:30AM      Namaskar – Pay Homage to the Triple Gem (the Buddha, the Dhamma, the Sangha),
                         receive the 5 precepts, offering to the Buddhist monks, invite the Buddhist monks to chant and
                         transmit the merits to Their Holinesses, the Maha Thera, Vipassana Master, our ancestors
                         and deceased relatives in the realm of Samsara – the cycle of suffering, birth and death.

   12:00PM       Lunch for the devotees and guests

* Sunday the 7th Waning Moon of Jeṭṭha B.E.2557 equivalent to June 30, A.D.2013
                        The conclusion of the Samadhi Vipassana Learning & Retreat. Thank you.

Wat Kiry Vongsa Bopharam, the Peace Meditation Center, will hold the traditional Cambodian New Year ceremony this year like years past, on Sunday the 4 – 10 Waxing Moon of Citta, Year of the Snake, B.E.2556 equivalent to April 14 – Saturday April 20, A.D.2013.

The Mayor and Police Chief of the town of Leverett, Massachusetts are anticipated to attend this year’s event on Sunday the 4th Waxing Moon of Citta, April 14.

Saturday the 10th Waxing Moon, April 20 is the conclusion of our New Year ceremony to allow the people to participate.

Traditionally it is a three-day event. More than six countries celebrate this New Year calendar:
Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar (Burma) Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and some part of India.

This is a media advisory and an extended invitation to the Khmer people and public.

Wat Kiry Vongsa Bopharam has been established in B.E. 2530 A.D.1987 and registered with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

A Buddhist Fundraising Ceremony at Wat Kiry Vongsa Bopharam to take place on:

Saturday the 3rd Waxing Moon of Āsāḷha B.E.2556, July 21, A.D.2012 Year of the Dragon
* 6:00PM Assembly of Buddhist congregants

* 7:00PM Namaskar, receive the five precepts, and dhamma talk.

Sunay the 4th Waxing Moon of Āsāḷha B.E.2556, July 22, A.D.2012 Year of the Dragon
* 9:30AM Assembly of  fundraisers

* 10:30AM Namaskar, receive the five precepts, offering lunch to the Buddhist monks, Buddhist monks offer their blessing to the ancestors and deceased ones.

* Lunch

* 1:00PM Procession of donations three times around the pagoda and make offering to the Buddhist monks to conclude the ceremony.

Wat Dhamagosnaram in Rhode Island will organize a Buddhist ceremony in recognition of Chief Monk on Saturday – Sunday June 30 – July 1, B.E.2556, A.D.2012 accordingly as planned.
The dignitaries from Cambodia, especially Ven. Chhoeng Bunchhea and Minister of Ministry of Cult and
Religions Min Khin and the planned birthday ceremony for the Chief Monk will not take place according to
the June 24, B.E.2556, A.D.2012 decision of the Board of the temple.

Summer 2012Khmer Literacy and Citizenship Program
 
The Buddhist Center of New England, Inc is holding the Khmer literacy classes for the beginners learning to read, write, and speak. And the second grade for the students have better understanding in Khmer literacy.
 
The program is held as follows: 
Started on Saturday, July 14th, 2012
Classes taught every Saturday and Sunday
from 1:00pm to 2:30pm

Citizenship program is taught every Wednesday
Started July 11th, 2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Khmer Krom Community commemorates the 63rd Annual Kampuchea Krom Loss

KKC and Khmer Krom NGOs in Cambodia to organize an Offering Buddhist Ceremony to 1949 Buddhist monks and to commemorate the 63rd Annual National Mourning, the day colonial France ceded Khmer land to colonial Vietnam on June 4, B.E.2493, A.D.1949 to continue colonizing her until today at the residence of Senator Kong Korm due to Phnom Penh City Hall denied their venue requests for public square and Buddhist pagoda.

New Year Blessing Ceremony

Dear Devotees and Friends in the Dhamma,

You are cordially invited to participate in the New Year Blessing ceremony to be held on April 13, 2012 at 6.30p.m. The event will take place at the monastic residence of the International Shakyamuni Buddha Vihara & Vipassana Center, Inc., 140 Cottage Street, Lynn, MA 01905.

In order to commemorate the event of South Asian New Year, there will be a worship and prayer chanting of Paritta Sutta, listen to the Dhamma Talk and finally sharing merits to all sentient beings.

After the prayer all the participants will have a different taste of food offered by our Bangladeshi, Burmese, Nepalese and Vietnamese friends and families. YoMa Burmese Restaurant from Allston and Tin Hla Burmese family from Malden will bring Burmese food to share on the occasion.
